Friedrichshafen/Herzogenaurach, July 2015 - The Outdoor Industry Gold Award, an additional Outdoor Industry Award and the Polartec APEX award rounded up the entirely positive summary after this year’s OutDoor fair for adidas Outdoor. The new terrex collection for spring / summer 2016 was received very well by the expert audience at the fair, which lead to three awards for innovative terrex products. terrex, the top segment of the adidas Outdoor collection, stands for high-functional, lightweight and versatile products.
The lightweight terrex Agravic Down Jacket received the Outdoor Industry Gold Award due to its degree of innovation, workmenship and functionality. The jury was clearly excited by the innovative heat seal baffling construction: “The adidas terrex Agravic Down Jacket convinces with its innovative well thought out down chamber design. The seams overlap to minimize the development of cold bridges. The panel was also impressed by the freedom of movement, collar solution and excellent fit.”
The new terrex Agravic trailrunning shoe convinced the judges by combining an “excellent rubber outsole with a convincing new cushioning material, while also ensuring a great fit.” They rated it as “a very stable lightweight trailrunning shoe.” The shoe features a Continental® rubber for excellent grip on dry and wet surfaces outsole and the innovative BOOST™ cushioning, which offers more energy return than any other cushioning material in the industry.
The third award went to the multifunctional base layer terrex Skyclimb Top, which was rewarded with the APEX award by Pertex. The top was created to do the job of three garments in just one piece. It is an ideal base layer, using the best-performing Polartec® Power Dry® High Efficiency fabric. It also functions as a mid-layer, using Polartec® Alpha® insulation, and it features an overlay of the lightest Pertex Equilibrium® adding the function of a windproof vest.
