Berghaus Arete 35 Reviewed

Written by

The Berghaus Arete 35 is a real mixed bag, sporting the design of a climbing pack and ice axe loops with a back system more suited for less srenous and extended activities. As a hillwaking or trekking pack it's stylish, affordable and very capable. As a scrambling pack it's got all the features you need but for heavier loads and full-on mountaineering it lacks thea fully specced support system a more dedicated and expensive pack offers. With the build quality and looks of a more technical pack, and even a few of the features, there's a tendancy to over expect from the Arete 35 but bear the price in mind and the limitations that price requires and this is a real value for money pack for UK hillwalkers who like the odd day scrambling or a winter day trip in Scotland.
