The European Outdoor Group (EOG) has strengthened its team with the appointment of a CSR and sustainability manager.  Pamela Ravasio has joined the EOG in this new role and brings 15 years of business experience, including nine years of major involvement in sustainability issues and projects. Although only just appointed she has already started spreading the message, appearing at the Outdoor Industries Association Conference to co-host a discussion on Corporate Social Resonsibility.

In 2013, the EOG made a commitment to increase resources and employ a full time CSR and sustainability expert.  After a thorough recruitment process, the Swiss national has been employed to the newly created position (part-time project manager Vanessa Knowles will continue to work with the association on CSR and sustainability on a consultancy basis).

Gary Glazerman – hiking for every heartbeat

Written by

I was born with congenital heart defects back in 1959, when the prognosis for children like me was that we probably wouldn’t live past our teens. I had my first open heart surgery when I was five but this was before the days of heart bypass machines so I was immersed in an ice bath for six hours and once the surgeon cut into my chest and exposed my heart he had seven minutes to do his stuff and manually massage it back into normal rhythm, otherwise I would have probably suffered brain damage. There were no defibrillators in those days.
