Lakes landlord to set up England's highest bar in aid of MRT

On Saturday 18th June, Mark Corr the landlord of the award winning 'Strands Inn and Brewery', Nether Wasdale, will be undertaking a unique fund raising event.

Mark will be setting off from the National Trust campsite car park in Wasdale at 9am via the Brown Tongue route up to the summit of Scafell Pike with 36 pints of one of his own real ales to serve to the public on the roof of all England.

The event is to raise money for both Cancer Research and Wasdale Mountain Rescue, two charities close to Mark's heart. Donations can be made via Just Giving at: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/mark-corr1

Mark will be serving one of his microbrews called 'Scafell Summit' inspired by Terry Abraham's documentary 'Life of a Mountain: Scafell Pike'. Accompanying Mark will be mountain guide David Powell-Thompson, local fellrunning legend Joss Naylor, filmmaker Terry Abraham and many more.

The general public are more than welcome to attend and needless to say enjoy a pint of one of his finest atop England's highest peak
