The walks feature some exciting new routes, such as the Red Squirrels of Snaizeholme, a nine mile circular walk along part of the Pennine Way in Wensleydale, as well as old favourites, such as the Swaledale Chain. And this year the organisers are delighted to welcome, amongst others, Peter Robinson, Rob Cowen and Alan Johnson MP, to the Festival’s book events.
The full programme is now available on the festival’s own website at www.booksandboots.org, and will be supplemented by a printed brochure. Tickets are available from 1 July, and events can be booked online, by post or in person via the Festival box office at the Castle Hill bookshop in Richmond.
A festival spokesman said “The festival has proved over the years to be a really popular event, not just with local people, but walkers and book lovers from all over the country. We are very excited about the line-up for this year’s festival - which is our 11th - and are sure that everyone can find something which appeals to them, whether a short stroll to explore the delights of our beautiful town of Richmond, a poetry and prose evening featuring local authors, or the ever popular Ghost Walk.”
