Things To Do on a Bike: Cyclo-Cross

As a kid Saturday afternoons meant one thing. 4 O'Clock was time for the wrestling on ITV's World of Sport. Not that pumped up nonsense from across the pond, but real wrestling, fat Northern blokes bumping into each other with their massively oversized bellies. I was a Giant Haystacks fan my self, Big Daddy was too nice and urban myth had it that he had a sister in Emmerdale Farm. Rollerball Rocco? No he looked like Bobby Ball.

Etape Loch Ness

I heard the excitement in her voice, Well as much excitement as a Yorkshire accent can actually convey, "A closed road sportive around Loch Ness, I've got to do that." Problem was the only spaces available were charity and I don't get why people should sponsor me to enjoy myself so I didn't fancy it but Julie being new to proper cycling ie road it was still enough of a challenge to warrant it. So in the depths of a Scottish spring we made our way to Inverness.
