Arc’teryx Norvan LD Trail Shoe reviewed

Arcteryx are famous for their style and innovation so when they designate a shoe with the letters LD for long distance you have to sit up and take notice.

A stacked field and the fastest, “flattest” race of the Golden Trail Series, the 31km Sierre-Zinal, delivered a very similar result on Sunday in the Swiss Alps. Salomon athlete Kilian Jornet ran away from the competition in the second half of the race to capture his record sixth title here (and second consecutive), while Kenya’s Lucy Murigi won the women’s race for the second consecutive year and third time overall.

This autumn, Ellis Brigham and Fjӓllrӓven will join forces to host a series of evening talks from renowned mountaineer and Fjӓllrӓven brand ambassador, Alan Hinkes OBE. With events set to take place in cities all around the UK including London, Manchester and Glasgow, the talk series gives outdoor and climbing enthusiasts the opportunity to come along and meet a true climbing legend in person.

Here at Alpkit we’ve long been exponents for going nice places and doing good things on bikes… even before ‘bikepacking’ became as widespread as it is now we had Paul Errington and AlpCol pushing bikes around the Yak Attack in Nepal, or Paul, AlpKen and Scott riding (and pushing and carrying) bikes over the Cairngorm Plateau and AlpKen and AlpNick were there at the first Welsh Ride Thing.

If you are a UK based ultra runner itʼs unlikely you wonʼt have heard of the Lakeland 50 and 100, however outside of these circles it is still relatively unknown event and maybe one of the hidden gems in the UK endurance scene.
