It's almost a year since I found myself sat in Zermatt YHA, posting to social media that it was probably my last press trip. While the images showed spectacular views soaring over Zermatt on a tandem paraglide and taking on the descent from Schwarzsee to Zermatt the images were only half of the truth. The reality was I was sat on the edge of my bed, falling apart both physically and mentally. The adrenaline was wearing off from the day's action and the repercussions of a 9 year old injury were making their presence known big style.

72 hours in the Jungfrau region

Some time, long ago, so the legend has it, a young lady from a nunnery above Interlaken ventured onto the hills and attracted the attention of an ogre living on a neighbouring hill. The organisers of Keswick Mountain Festival (KMF) have revealed a late addition to an already packed line up of events and attractions for this year’s event. New for 2018, the Blacks Air Display will see the AeroSPARX aerobatic stunt display team and the Osprey Skydiving team take to the skies above Derwentwater to entertain thousands of visitors gathered in Crow Park for the festival’s live music programme on 8 and 9 June.

Having already ticked 6 of the 7 required summits off in good time, the expedition’s goal to break the ‘7Summits’ world speed record was achieved in the early hours of this morning, when Steve Plain and Montane Athlete Jon Gupta summited Mount Everest a full 9 days ahead of the previous world record.
