Julbo Aero sunglasses tested and reviewed

I’ve always liked sunglasses, it feels like a special occasion especially in Britain, when the weather dictates its time to don protection against bright light, glare and UV rays.

Hoka One One Clayton - Tested and Reviewed

The Clayton is Hoka One One’s premier road offering for 2016. Could this be third time lucky after a tricky relationship so far?

The 4th edition of the Matterhorn Ultraks Trail was a great success today in Zermatt. Not even the rain could stop Marc Lauenstein (SUI) and Megan Kimmel (USA) of winning one of the greatest tracks in the international Skyrunner® World Series», the 46K. Over 2’000 participants took the start of the 16K,30K and 46K.

For the launch of its first “two-days” event, the 4th edition of the Matterhorn Ultraks started successfully today with sunny weather. Following the traditional Kids’ race, the VZS was won by Victoria Kreuzer (SUI) for the women and Andréas Steindl (SUI) for the men.

The Matterhorn Ultraks, created in 2013, is part of the Skyrunner© World Series since day one with its 46K race. Trying to evolve every year, the organisers of the Matterhorn Ultraks extended this year’s race into a two-days event. While Saturday is hosting the more traditional tracks such as the 16K, the 30K and the 46K, Friday was reserved for the Kids race and the constantly changing Vertical Race – the VZS.

This year, the Vertical race linked Zermatt to Sunnegga. On the distance of only 2.5 kilometres, the runners had to climb 667 meters from the town of Zermatt up to the top of Sunnegga. Andréas Steindl, record holder for the fastest time from Zermatt to the top of the Matterhorn, made it to the first place today with a time of 26 minutes and 41 seconds. As for the women, Victoria Kreuzer stood out with a time of 32 minutes and 21 seconds. The second best time (36min, 21sec) of the women race was scored Lynn Pollinger, who ran in the VZS Juniors category today.

As for the beginning of this afternoon, with perfect running temperatures, 180 kids participated in the Kids’ race, supported by Nepalese trail legend and godfather of the race Dawa Sherpa.

The weather forecast for tomorrow predicts a cloudy sky in the morning and some showers in the afternoon. In the 46K, local hero Martin Anthamatten (SUI) and Elisa Desco (ITA) will defend their title from last year. The organisers are also proud to count ski legend Pirmin Zurbriggen as a special guest for the 16K.

The Salomon S-LAB Sense Ultra is iconic. For anyone who has an interest in Salomon’s trail running team, they will be aware of the famous red and white flash of their S-Lab Sense Ultra range. Developed and worn by the likes of Kilian Jornet, Emelie Forsberg and Tom Owens, they are the most race-oriented performance offering from the bands comprehensive arsenal.sal 1

Only three days left until the Matterhorn Ultraks kicks off this Friday the 19th of August in Zermatt. Preparations are underway to welcome athletes from around the world to the 4th edition of the Matterhorn Ultraks.

Salomon is to become title sponsor for both of the new Skyline Scotland™ races which are to be known as the Salomon Mamores VK™ and the Salomon Ring of Steall Skyrace™. This announcement complements Salomon’s commitment to once again title sponsor the Salomon Glen Coe Skyline™ race which, in only its second year, has become part of the prestigious Skyrunner® World Series and sold out within just weeks of entries opening.iancorless.com GlenCoe2015 2845 1MB
