New for winter 2016, the Berghaus Extrem™ 7000 Belay Parka combines cutting edge materials and design to deliver outstanding static insulation for climbers when they tackle long routes in the depths of winter.

The jacket is part of the all new range of Extrem™ apparel, which includes high performance waterproof, down, synthetic and fleece garments for climbing and mountaineering.

The outer fabric of the Berghaus Extrem™ 7000 Belay Parka is PERTEX® Endurance, giving water resistant and windproof protection from the elements, with reinforcement across key wear areas in the shoulders, arms and hood. Insulation comes in the form of Berghaus’ own synthetic and water resistant Hydroloft® Elite Pro, which has been body-mapped to provide the right levels of warmth in the right places, and will continue to perform under extreme conditions. The jacket has a helmet-compatible hood with adjustment around the front of the face and rear of the head. The peak is stiffened with micro wire and has an internal stretch gaiter to improve fit, grip the helmet and prevent cold air from flowing over the top of the head. Other features include: two large chest pockets and two large hand-warmer pockets, all with additional Hydroloft® insulation; low-profile snug cuffs for a comfortable feel on the move; and single-handed adjustment at the hem.

The Extrem™ 7000 Belay Parka weighs 897g (size large) and retails at £200. The jacket is available now from and selected specialist outdoor retailers.
