After several years of development, EcoLactam®, a durable nylon material with a significant lower carbon footprint than conventional materials, was first tested in 2024 with the CXI jacket, which helped Didriksons and producer Fibrant optimise production processes, ensure traceability, and confirm performance at scale. “With Dario and Varja, we prove that responsible material choices can be applied where they matter most. That is in styles that reach many customers and are worn often,” says Per Odqvist, Chief Sourcing Officer at Didriksons.
The PFAS-free waterproof, windproof and breathable Dario and Varja jackets are designed for every day, year-round use, offering reliable functionality and technical performance in changing weather conditions, with a clean, contemporary look and available in extended sizes.

EcoLactam® is a polyamide material developed by Fibrant, using patented processes that reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 70 percent compared with conventional nylon. “Our collaboration with Didriksons shows how innovation and responsibility can be scaled together. This launch also sets the stage for a wider rollout. From spring/summer 2026, EcoLactam® will be used in Dario and Varja alongside additional styles, with further expansion planned for autumn/winter 2026. “This is not a one-off product launch.
