Available in men’s and women’s versions, the overtrousers mark the debut of the high performance material, which Berghaus has brought to the market after an extensive development and testing process in close collaboration with Pertex.

The 2.5L Pertex Shield Pro fabric combines a microporous membrane with a 40D ripstop nylon face. It is highly waterproof, with a hydrostatic head of 30,000mm, and extremely breathable, with a moisture transfer vapour rate (MVTR) of 13,000g/m2/24hrs. Pertex Shield Pro is also lightweight, packable and very durable. The fabric is made without the intentional use of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).

Designed for extensive, wide ranging outdoor use, the Berghaus Pacsmart Pant delivers a high level of performance at a very low weight, keeping out the elements and sustaining comfort during activities. Three quarters length side zips mean that the overtrousers are easy to put on and take off over boots or shoes, as conditions demand. There are double press studs for added security and protection, and to allow for extra ventilation when working hard. The pant is cut to allow great freedom of movement, and an elasticated waistband adapts to the body and provides a comfortable, secure fit. The Pacsmart Pant comes with a small stuff sac for easy storage, taking up minimal space in a pack. 

The women’s Berghaus Pacsmart Pant weighs just 227g (size 12) and the men’s weighs 237g (size large), and the suggested retail price is £130. The Pacsmart Pant will be available later in March at www.berghaus.com and from selected specialist outdoor retailers.
