From Friday 28 November to Monday 1 December 2025, 10% of all direct UK online sales will be donated to the UK’s Mountain Rescue organisations. Funds will be shared between Mountain Rescue England and Wales (MREW) and Scottish Mountain Rescue (SMR).
As the brand behind products trusted by rescue volunteers across the UK, Mountain Equipment’s Red Friday campaign celebrates that partnership and highlights the incredible work these teams do, channelling the commercial peak of the retail year into genuine support. Across the UK, many Mountain
Rescue volunteers are usually recognised by their distinctive red jackets, a familiar sight on mountainsidesduring searches and rescues. Red Friday pays tribute to that identity and the people behind it.
“Mountain Rescue volunteers embody the same spirit we have built our brand on, commitment, skill and selflessness in harsh conditions,” said Neil Bradley, Brand Director at Mountain Equipment. “This campaign is a small way for us to give something back to those who give everything to keep us safe in the mountains and to continue to raise awareness of the great work they do day in and day out.”
Elsie Riley, spokesperson for Scottish Mountain Rescue, added: “With rising rescues, we are grateful for the support of Mountain Equipment, who are turning Black Friday Red for Mountain Rescue. Together, we can provide peace of mind for everyone who wants to enjoy our beautiful mountains. Our team does not end with the volunteers who give their time to respond torescues; everyone who supports us is part of our team, too. Red Friday will help power our teams.”
Funds raised will support Mountain Rescue to continue their vital work across the UK’s mountains, hills, valleys, and coastal areas, providing lifesaving assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in all weather conditions.
