The Kendal Mountain Festival is an annual three-day celebration in the English Lake District that brings together films, literature, art and community events to showcase adventure, outdoor culture and the spirit of exploration. With a strong focus on environmentalism and sustainability, and legendary amongst outdoor enthusiasts, it’s a chance for communities to join together, share stories and dive into the challenges and rewards of life in the mountains.
As part of their comprehensive programme at KMF 2025, KEEN will be presenting the UK & European premiere of the KEEN Effect film ‘Glacier Speak’, a sketch of an Alaskan glacier that sends watercolour artist Max Romey on a journey to find where his grandmother stood four decades ago. While trying to create the same sketch in the same place with the same materials—with only one page to guide him—he discovers that the glacier is trying to show him an even bigger picture.
Of the release Max commented, “My hope is this film leaves people feeling a little bit lighter about the world. And that it lights a little bit of a spark – that a little action, a little person and a little army of goodness can go a really, really long way”.
Through their Consciously Created approach—using responsibly sourced materials, safer chemicals, and PFAs free planet-friendly manufacturing—KEEN build footwear that helps protect the outdoors and places outside communities play. Highlights from their current AW25 collection include the Targhee IV comfort hiker, Jasper Zionic and the Seek – KEEN’s first ever trail running shoe.
