BBC Breakfast go caving ahead of Kendal Mountain Festival 2018

Written by

BBC Breakfast's intrepid sports reporter Mike Bushell, known for his hands-on ventures into all manner of sports, joined the programming team behind Kendal Mountain Festival's popular Petzl Underground session to shine a spotlight on the subterranean world of caving.

Due to air tomorrow as part of BBC Breakfast's weekly Saturday sports report, Mike traded shoes for wellies and a suit for a waterproof onesie to explore the spectacular caving systems of the Yorkshire Dales, under the expert tutelage of Yorkshire Dales Guides. Tune in to BBC One tomorrow to find out how he got on.

BBC Breakfast Caving 002

Jane Allen, UK Caving: Mike Bushell's enthusiasm for the sport is infectious.  It was a pleasure to help introduce him to adventures underground - caving!

Quote from Kendal Mountain Festival Director Clive Allen: The Petzl Underground session has been running for six years now, attracting a wide and enthusiastic audience, many of whom are not actually cavers - they’re just excited to hear these tales of adventure and exploration! For cavers and non-cavers alike, it’s a chance to connect and get inspired.
