Weighing just 5.08kg, the NIGOR Spix features the most advanced tent materials and components currently available, including new poles from DAC and ultra-lightweight Gorlyn 40 material.

Developed in partnership with Jake Lah, the founder of DAC, the Nigor Spix is the first expedition tent in the world to feature DAC’s new 13.55 PL poles, which are 45% stiffer than 11mm poles, but weigh 7% less. The PL poles also deliver extreme elasticity, a big advantage in comparison to regular poles during harsh conditions. The poles’ability to flex while remaining in position and then returning to their original straightness when packed away is unmatched.

During controlled tests by DAC, the tent withstood winds of up to hurricane force. The DAC tester commented that it was very unusual for a tunnel tent to stand up to wind speeds of 20-25m/second against both its sides and front. The Spix achieved this, without suffering damage to the poles or fly.

The Nigor Spix also features Gorlyn 40, an ultra-lightweight ripstop 40D nylon with an extremely high tear strength. Rather than mesh, the Gorlyn is combined with, FabVue, a new transparent breathable fabric that delivers an unparalleled combination of external views and excellent ventilation.

The spacious vestibule has front and side doors,with robust zip entry. The inner tent also offers plenty of room for three people and their gear. The zipped vents in the fly can be easily opened for air flow, and to scoop snow or for cooking. All ventilation options can also be securely closed against the elements. The floor is made of 40D ripstop nylon with a TPU laminate (hydrostatic head of 10,000mm).

The Nigor Spix will comfortably sleep three people and its light weight and small pack size (55cm x 18cm) make it ideal for expedition use. The tent can be used with a double pole set if necessary.
