This autumn, Silva launches its new Free range which brings a new concept to head torches: modularity. Swap different lamp units and batteries around to create the perfect set-up for your activity; all are available as separate items, along with a host of accessories.

The international ISPO trade show has acknowledged the Free concept by giving it an ISPO Award with the jury saying, “A modular headlamp is great if you are a multi-sports enthusiast with different needs. The Silva Free Series is lightweight yet offers powerful brightness and heaps of versatile adjustment options.”

Then at the recent OTS trade show in Liverpool, the Free Series was unveiled as a finalist in the UK Outdoor Industry Awards in the Accessories category. In addition, in the Sustainability category, the Silva Terra Expedition S Compass was also announced as a finalist due to its components being made from recycled polypropylene and natural hemp fibres, resulting in 90% less carbon emissions.

All finalists will go forward to a public vote from November, with the winners being announced at the next OIA Conference.
