Torrential rain and strong winds faced runners in the Torridon hills. Although it was a relatively short day, the weather and underfoot conditions were extremely challenging. Of the 270 who started the event, only 190 were still in the race on day four and that had reduced to 167 by the end of the day.

Among them was Laura O’Driscoll, who battled on despite picking up an ankle injury on day three, and managed to retain her second place position in the women’s race. Meanwhile, Graham Walton and Despina Berdeni both extended their leads. Graham had started the day less than a minute ahead of Thomas Øderud and while the gap is now over 13 minutes, that could easily change over the second half of the race.

1^st Despina Berdeni (27:00:28) – fourth overall

2^nd Laura O Driscoll (28:13:30)

3^rd Vicky Savage (31:15:08)
