Heather Geluk - Adventurer & Sherpa Gear Ambassador

Sherpa adventure gear ambassador, born and raised in Canada, Heather Geluk spends four months each year living in a tent on the side of snowy peaks in the Himalayas, Canadian Rockies and Alps. Her mountaineering achievements have included expeditions to Lhotse (third Canadian woman) and the northeast ridge of Everest, as well as Makalu, Cholatse, Kyajo Ri and other Himalayan giants.

Heather’s far-ranging resume also includes cycling 7500kms across Canada and 600kms across Tanzania, in addition to dragon boat racing on the Thames and white water rafting on the Bhote Kosi and Karnali rivers in Nepal.

Heather Geluk is one of the most successful women global mountaineer’s, as well as being a Change Management and Communications Consultant for her day job at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

Heather has raised over $350,000 for charity through her climbing experiences, including for Wellbeing of Women, which dedicates themselves to improving the health of women, mothers and babies, and also the Paldorje Education Foundation, which sponsors Nepalese children through school.

She is the first woman in 23 years (and second ever) to climb Shishapangma and Cho Oyu in one season, two 8,000m peaks in the Nepal Himalaya. Although Heather didn't summit these peaks she said "the experience brought me to new mountains!" 

She was caught in, and lucky enough to survive, the Nepal earthquake which struck last year on 25th April, and actually stayed on in Nepal to provide humanitarian assistance through raising funds and awareness and delivering food, shelter and financial relief to those impacted.
