Arcteryx Alpine Academy unveils free Alpine Village activities

Written by

The 11th edition of the Arc’teryx Alpine Academy kicks off on June 30 and this year the world’s biggest educational event for mountain enthusiasts has even more for everyone to see and do.

Made famous for its on-mountain clinics led by some of the world’s best mountain guides and athletes, the Alpine Academy will take it to new heights this year. The Alpine Village located on the Place de Triangle de l’Amitié in the heart of Chamonix will be the place to be with lots of free activities for visitors across the weekend.

The Alpine Village will be a world of outdoor experiences, events and activities curated by Arc’teryx with dedicated offerings from partners. With a bouldering wall staffed by top guides and athletes, live DJ sets from Hotel Radio Paris and local DJs, a visual artistic exhibition and movie premiere from Ivan Le Pays, The Alpine Village is not to be missed. A core element of The Alpine Village, The Arc’teryx Experience is an exclusive and free invite for all visitors who want to peek behind the Arc’teryx curtain. Led by brand and partner experts, visitors can move through dedicated spaces and get insights into the R&D, Manufacturing, Testing and Circularity processes which have helped shape the outdoor industry we know and love.

Rounding off each evening at The Alpine Village will be a wide variety of movies devoted to celebrating courageous individuals and their stories in the great outdoors. Visitors can lose themselves in the cinematic universe with world movie premieres of “Balkan Express” starring Max Kroneck, “Under Your Nose” from Tina Johnsen Hafsaas and Thilo Schröter, and “Climb Panamericana 2” with Ines Papert and Luka Lindič.

Other film highlights, which are a must-see for outdoor enthusiasts are “In Search of Awe”, which will be shown on the big screen for the first time and Emmy award-winning “The Alpinist”.

“The Arc’teryx Alpine Academy aims to progress everyone’s mountain skills. Initially the focus was on the educational clinics but over the years we have been building up the other activities and events to really celebrate mountain culture. This year again we’re taking this to new heights and ensuring that every experience at the Alpine Academy is awesome and immersive. With the expansion of the Alpine Village program to include even more movie premieres, The Arc’teryx Experience, live DJ sets and the all-new bouldering wall, we are well on the way to achieving this. And this is on top of the great music line-up which we recently announced for The Scene and The Club. I personally can’t wait for it to kick-off!” says Max Müller, EMEA Sports Marketing Manager at Arc’teryx.
