Friday morning is the ideal time to catch a film session or two before the big film premieres and speakers take centre stage and between 9 and 12 you get the full range of options covering Climbing (2), Endurance, Snowsports, Bike and a Special Selection for those unsure of what to watch. After lunch though, the focus shifts to the Malt Room and the annual Boardman Tasker Prize for Mountain Literature - the most respected literary award in the world for outdoor and adventure writers.

Friday evening's highlights include the ever popular 11 times Everest summiteer Kenton Cool and the first of the really big film premieres in Hot Aches Transition. The film follows Natalie Berry as she makes the move from indoor climbing to trad, winter and mountaineering. A fascinating, exciting and entertaining glimpse of one person’s journey, shot in some of the UK’s most amazing locations. Directors Paul Diffley and Chris Prescott, together with Natalie and Dave will be on hand to introduce the film and take audience questions afterwards.
Friday night is also bike night and endurance night and our Cycling Editor, Stu Thomas, will be taking in the famous Santa Cruz Bike Session while Running Editor James will be at the Adidas Endurance Session.
